This report contains the results of the Department's status review of the Xantus's Murrelet. The report includes input from four peer reviewers with expertise on the Xantus's Murrelet, or closely related species. The report also includes the Department's recommendations the the Fish and Game Commission regarding a preliminary identification of habitat that may be esential to the continued existence of the species, as well as management activities and other recommendations for the recovery of the species.

This document provides interim guidance for two procedures to accurately assess the likelihood of California Tiger Salamander (CTS) presence in the vicinity of a project site, including: (1) an assessment of CTS locality records and potential CTS habitat in an around the project area; and (2) focused field surveys of breeding pools and their associated uplands to determine whether CTS are likely to be present.
