Natural Resource Volunteer Program
Conduct and Regulations
- Volunteers shall be required to comply with all DFG rules and regulations governing the conduct of non-sworn DFG personnel.
- In addition, volunteers shall not place themselves in dangerous situations or get involved in anything that could become confrontational.
- Volunteers shall immediately back away from dangerous or hazardous situations and notify the dispatch center and a supervisor immediately.
- Volunteers shall not take any enforcement action, regardless of the circumstances.
- Should a volunteer unintentionally come across a dangerous situation or observe a crime in progress, the volunteer shall move to a safe location and call for assistance.
- As unpaid employees, volunteers are entitled to limited benefits which include, but are not limited to: worker's compensation insurance, tort liability coverage, and reimbursement for certain expenses.
