Description: The 83 acre ecological reserve is on the north slope of San Bruno Mtn and within parts of Owl and Buckeye Canyons. Along the canyon bottoms and streams is riparian habitat of Calif buckeye, oaks, bays and willows. Drier areas are a mixture of grasslands and stunted shrubs. San Bruno Mtn is unique for its Franciscan fog zone flora which is distinct from other coastal areas. Look for a variety of songbirds, raptors, owls and small mammals. Terrain is steep and rugged for hiking.
