- The Feather River Fish Hatchery, located on the river across
from historic downtown Oroville, will feature active salmon spawning
for public viewing. The Department of Water Resources (DWR) will
provide guides for interpretation of this activity from 10 a.m.
to 3 p.m.
- The Feather River Nature Center
will once again showcase The First Salmon Ceremony, a Maidu Tribal
ritual recognizing the return of salmon to the Feather River.
- Throughout
the day, there will be Native American dancing, hand games, displays
of Maidu spear fishing tools and dry-land demonstrations of spear
fishing techniques.
